A newly reopened bingo hall is raising funds with every full house.

Deluxe Bingo in Hastings has collected more than £2,000 for St Michael’s Hospice since it reopened on June 21.

The fundraising is part of a wider campaign to raise £10,000 for the hospice over the next year.

Jeremy Godden, director of the Godden Gaming Organisation, said: “We’re thrilled to have already raised over £2,000 in just a few short weeks since reopening.

“It’s incredibly heartening to see how warmly the community has embraced both the return of Deluxe Bingo and our mission to give back.

“It’s been genuinely uplifting, and it’s given us even more drive to keep going and hit that £10,000 target within the year.”

The campaign began with a £1,000 donation on opening night, and the total continues to grow thanks to ongoing support from visitors.

Each bingo session helps raise money for the hospice, which supports people across Hastings and Rother.

Sophie Bailey, community and corporate fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “I personally have fond memories of the Deluxe and am very excited to see it reopening.

“On behalf of St Michael’s Hospice, I’d like to say a huge thank you to the Deluxe team for aiming to raise an amazing £10,000 in aid of the hospice.

“We’re so grateful for your generosity, and for helping enable us to continue supporting the people of Hastings and Rother through dying, death and loss.”

Deluxe Bingo Hastings is open from Thursday to Monday, offering both afternoon and evening sessions.

The fundraising campaign will continue throughout the year, with special events planned to boost donations.

A Mega Money Night will take place on Sunday, August 24 and is expected to draw a large crowd for an evening of bingo.
