Deluxe Bingo Hastings is gearing up for its first-ever Mega Money Weekend with over £20,000 in guaranteed house prizes across the four-day Easter weekend.
And two local residents have struck gold in a social media golden ticket scavenger hunt around Hastings Old Town.
In the week leading up to the event, Deluxe Bingo Hastings challenged players to find two hidden golden tickets by deciphering cryptic photo clues posted on the club’s social media channels. Each ticket offered two bronze packages for entry to the highly anticipated Mega Money Weekend events.
The first golden ticket was discovered by Janie Straughan, a 47‑year‑old NHS worker, who recognised the clue’s setting as independent boutique Mame’s Place on George Street.
She said: “I follow Deluxe’s social media pages and first saw the competition on there.
“I reckoned that the location couldn’t be too far from the Deluxe, so I just had a look around George Street, and found it there. My friend and I go to the bingo there a couple nights a week, so we were so happy to win.”
The second hidden ticket was claimed by Kate Burnham, 48, who works in a local school kitchen. After recognising Yankee candles in the second image clue, she quickly made her move.
She said: “I saw that the picture had been posted four minutes ago, and I know that nowhere else in the Old Town sells Yankee candles. So I went straight down there – I saw then on the Deluxe page that I had found it less than an hour after it was posted.
“I never win anything, so when I won I went straight to my best friend to come with me!”
On Saturday 4 April, doors open from 11am for a full day of bingo fun. On Sunday 5 April, entry is from 5pm for the main Mega Money event, with players able to simply turn up, buy their books and join in – no pre-booking required.
